So many fun senior pictures to pick from.... honestly looking through these it looks like we must have spent all day taking them, but we didn't! I guess if you're photogenic enough, maybe almost every shot is good? :) I wish I had that problem myself. :) :) And I love the alley.
And I love my new window - Nina Garde got it for me, isn't it so fun??? Thanks Nina!

A few days in Chicago
Last week I got to go to Chicago to a really great 3 day photography workshop/seminar. It was with a bunch of people I'd never met but I enjoyed getting to know some of them as the days progressed. And - I keep saying this - I am NOT a note-taker. Even in college, I barely took notes (maybe because there was always a textbook). But I came home with a shockingly lot of pages of notes! Some really good ideas - now I just need some time to put them into play. :) My great husband is helping me with some framing ideas that I loved, so it looks like I'm going to start with that (hooray!) and get not only my displays (i.e. family pictures) whipped into shape, but also hopefully get some really fun frames to offer clients.
So they did a group picture and said "Get your towels, because we're getting IN the pool for the picture." I guess I wouldn't have minded TOO much if we had to get in the pool - fully dressed - but happily I got to be on the pool-side instead. You can barely see me, 5th from the right, 2nd row, totally blocking the poor lady's face next to me (sorry...) And actually I did get wet because there were some really big splashes after the picture got taken :)

Urban senior session {Albuquerque senior photography}
Some more really fun senior previews - and I'm not halfway done with the previews... but I know it's hard to wait to see them, plus they're so fun for me to post! So I'll do more in the next few days. I had so much fun going around downtown with this beautiful senior & her mom! A great way to spend the morning.
She had seen some pictures of this really bright & fun wall, but we didn't know where it was. So we tried the time-honored method of driving around to see if we could find it. And we did! I was a little surprised but very happy. And what a wall it is! I have to say, Albuquerque has good painted walls, just in general, but this is in a good place, with good lighting - it's going to be a new favorite for sure.
Love all the different superheroes and villains - so many good ones up there!

Sweet siblings {Albuquerque children photographer}
What a week - I spent a few days in Chicago at a really good photography workshop. I learned a LOT - it was a really good experience. I think I have one picture I can post but I need to check. I actually did ride the train downtown to see some sights, but wasn't sure about the safety of the whole train experience, so I didn't take my camera :(. (It probably would have been fine, but there's no way to know that sort of thing before you try it, & it seemed better to be safe than sorry...) It's the first time I've traveled alone since before having children, if you don't count the one-day trip I took a few years ago. Strange to have the other parents on the plane struggling with kids and me not! Ha - I slept, on the plane, with nobody jumping on my lap at all. :)
But anyway, I'm still playing some catch-up with sessions and with blogging. There are a few leftover Easter portraits I thought I'd put up today. These guys are some of our favorite nice friends. Their son was one of my little boy's first friends in Albuquerque - they were part of the largest little-boy-playgroup I've ever done. Their daughter and mine are following in the boys' footsteps - they play so nicely together! And their baby is absolutely darling (even though I have no baby to match him up with for playdates). Obviously you can see that they are beautiful children, as well as good friends. Thanks so much for coming!

Spring senior pictures
I only have a few seconds to post, but tonight I did a quick part of a senior session at the park. And I love them! I want to post so this beautiful senior & her mom can see a few before we do more next week. The light was perfect, the trees were still blooming, and I'd been wanting to do a sky picture for a long time - we even got it right at sunset. Thanks so much! I'm excited to do more next week.

A bunny, a baby, a family, an Easter dress...
This was another one of my Easter sessions - I was so happy with how it turned out! Sometimes when I have a request for a full baby session, plus a family session, plus anything else (like for instance bunnies), I am a little hesitant - because sometimes the baby just does not last. But this baby was amazing! He was great for family pictures, waited for his sister to do all sorts of enchanting poses & expressions, and then he was so happy for pictures of his own! There was so much good stuff that I had an even harder time than usual picking what to post here :) - so there's a lot.
Anyway it was so nice to meet this really nice family - I think their baby is my newest baby plan baby, so I will look forward to seeing him grow throughout the year! (I really love that.)

Duck pond + a 2 year old
I didn't grow up here, didn't go to school here, so I don't know much about UNM. I had an especially fun time at this session at the UNM duck pond. I'd never been there before at all - some of my kids had, but not me. It was so great! Spring is just beginning - the grass is getting green (FINALLY) and the leaves are emerging too. Hooray! I was nervous about parking, and had my youngest with me to boot, so we got there quite a bit early and had lots of time to walk around. We loved the turtles! And the bridge, and waterfall, and of course the ducks too. What a fun place for pictures.
This little boy is so charming - his smile is just beautiful. He was coming up on nap time but I never would have known it if his mom hadn't told me. I love sessions like this - this was very informal, though we did a few more posed portraits at the end. You can really see how much fun he was having with his family!
