It was such an honor to get to create some portraits of this amazing young man to commemorate the special occasion of his first holy communion. He makes the world a better place.
I also loved getting to work in the beautiful church his family attends!
This session was really special and inspiring to me. I love doing first holy communion portraits - I love the beauty and importance of the occasion and I love working with children that age. I met this handsome boy at his church and he was very patient with me while I made him kneel, hold his eyes open in bright light, and hold a heavy Bible for a long time.
I especially like going with families to their churches at these sorts of occasions, so I was really glad that it worked out.
After he survived my ideas at the church, we went to the Botanic Gardens - it is SO beautiful there right now! We went to all my favorite photography locations there and I love what we got.
I also love to get moms and their sons together! I love these.
The flowers were so beautiful. The whole time I was thinking that I really need to bring my daughters for some fun girls pictures next.
This was one of my very favorites from the session.
I met this beautiful girl just a short time before her First Communion, and it was such a pleasure to work with her on these gorgeous portraits! She is sweet & bubbly and so much fun. As a photographer it doesn't any better than a beautiful girl in a beautiful gown, especially when she has a great personality to boot!
They were also so kind about me having 2 of my kids along - which is never my preference, though they did behave nicely. The funniest mom-moment was that my 2 year old (who mostly rode happily in the stroller) wore her "hop-hop slippers" and I forgot to bring real shoes along. Oops. She is a character and has also been wearing her moon boots a lot (warm weather notwithstanding) so it's not that big a stretch to wear bunny slippers out & about.
Anyway my thanks to this great subject and her very nice mother too - it was a really fun session!
