Canvas giveaway!

Dear Albuquerque friends and clients, I have a giveaway for you.  I have done giveaways in the past, actually kind of in the distant past :), but nothing like this.  (I am not sure that I'm not a little crazy, but somehow my fingers keep typing... maybe it is the thunderstorm outside...)

I want to describe my favorite product that I offer, the 20"x30" gallery wrap canvas.  I love them.  I hang them in my house. They do not need a frame. There is no glass to break. They look sophisticated and simple. They make me happy and I love to see them in my living room.  I love that I hang artwork of my family instead of hanging living room art. (Don Quixote print in my living room - I'm not talking about you.  I do like you.)  I get a little teary when I see older canvases from when my kids were younger. 

But what I want to know is - how does a 20x30 canvas make YOU feel?  How does it make your life better to have a 20x30 gallery wrap canvas?  I am asking you to shoot me your best description of the answer to those questions.  Then I will pick my favorite answer, and give that person a 20x30" canvas.  For real. (As my daughter would say.)  That is a $350 value.

There are a few details, but I don't think they will bother you.

• You do not need to be a current client - anyone who can get to me for a session is eligible.  (Albuquerque area.)
• You do not need to currently own a 20x30" canvas.  Just imagine how you would feel about it if you did.
• The canvas will come from a new session to be done sometime between now and February 29, 2013.  Your session will have my normal minimum purchase, but in addition to your order you will receive a large, gorgeous, wall portrait canvas.  To me that would mean - grandparents are getting some nice portraits for Christmas this year! 


• If you want to come and see my canvas, so you can see what I'm talking about, I'd love to have you!  Just give me a call & come over.
• I will ask the winner to give me a review of the canvas and also a picture of it hanging in your home (I'll come take the picture if you want!).

Giveaway for summer minisessions!

I'm so excited for my summer minisessions! My schedule is starting to fill up, but there are still timeslots available.  I decided to offer a gift for one of my sessions, just because I love these mini accordian books so much.  I'll pick one session at random and give you one of the smaller 2.5"x3.5" accordian books, with 14 images from your session.  That's a $55 value - and they are amazingly fun!  You will love it.  I have some more information on my website if you're interested in the accordian books.

"Christmas in July" open house shopping and give-aways

Every August I think that I really need to get my Christmas sh0pping done along with the back-to-school shopping. Some years I do get a lot of it, and it helps so much later in December! This year my goal is to shop AND wrap in the fall, and pay zero expediting shipping later on. :) (Also to make a list of what I've bought so I don't forget and overbuy.)

This Sunday I have a $50 gift card doorprize & some coupons at a "Christmas in July" open house that also includes some other great vendors. I love supporting stay-at-home moms, especially when the products are fabulous. So if you're interested in seeing what all is offered, just email me and I'll send you the address.



Also, I'm having a Scentsy party next week - on Tuesday from 10:30 - 12:30 - as you know if you know me, I'm a zero-pressure person. I just wanted to smell all the scents - they are SO good! If you'd like to come, just email me & come smell scents and eat muffins with us. (Kids are welcome.)

My new favorite portrait display - with a giveaway!

When I went to the photography seminar in Chicago in April, I was introduced to these amazing frames! I fell in love with them and immediately started planning my new portrait wall.

These are 10"x20" pictures, framed in a large display that fills one of my walls. The pictures themselves are coated with a protective linen textured finish. The great thing about this finish is that these frames don't need glass! There is never any glare on the pictures and they really pop!

The frames are completely customizable - any color, any combination of colors, and any size. I chose to have the images offset. The width of the frame is also up to you - wide or narrow, with a flat edge or rounded. You can get trim around the image if you like. I will have more examples of frame colors & patterns in the next couple of weeks. I'll post price information on my website in the next few days also.

Now - the giveaway! I love these so much that I'm sure you will too! I want one of you to have one, so I'm going to give one framed 11x14 print away, a $135 value. The details: you need to either book a session with me for this summer (meaning July or August), or have had a session within the last 3 months. The frame can be customized however you like it (I'll have more details later). The photograph itself will of course be your choice from your session, and will be coated with the linen protective finish without glass over it. Your job is to make sure you provide me with a picture of the framed picture in your home!

Giveaway!

My girls nearly always wear one of their gorgeous bows or clippies from Lynney Bugs Bows - and Chelsea of LBB has very kindly given me a bow to give away on my blog! It's a beautiful purple bow - my girls love it but they consented to model it only momentarily for a picture, and then allow it to be given away. This is an "Emma Bow" and is sold for $8. Please check out her website for more details. Chelsea's customer service is over the top amazing, and the quality of her bows is amazing too.





With the bow comes the "clippie of the month" - clippies are non-slip and stay in my daughters' fine, fine hair. The clippies are fantastic for keeping hair out of eyes without using rubber bands every day (I have a complex that rubber bands worn very often break their hair off - they don't have enough hair to lose that way!)

Fall Giveaway!

I had a hard time deciding what to do for my fall giveaway, but I finally decided that a custom-designed hardcover book would make the perfect gift! This will be an 8x10 book, with 10 pages front & back (so it's 20 sides). The images - of your choice - will come from your fall photo session, so this is a perfect Christmas gift for grandparents or other family members. This is printed by my professional lab & of the highest quality. This is a $100 value.


I will randomly pick the winner from my fall sessions from the months of September, October, and through November 10th. The session needs to be a "normal" session (is there such a thing?) where a session fee was paid, and the pictures need to have been taken during that time (not just reserved). I will include mini-sessions from my fall Saturday dates (see the post below).

Winner - my summer promotion!

Time to announce my winner! This little guy was so much fun - he moved fast, but his smile was gorgeous, and look at his eyes! Happy personalities like his are always such a pleasure to work with. I originally blogged his session here.

Summer giveway - large wall portrait

Okay, August is over and so is my summer promotion. Thanks so much to all of you who booked sessions with me this summer! I was up 50% this year over last year, and really I was busy non-stop. I even wanted a break to tear down the horrible wallpaper border in my kitchen, and never got one (that's a good thing, I hate tearing down wallpaper borders).

Just kidding, this is my family at our family reunion this summer, at the finale of the "bad hair contest". I didn't win, but I did get a great new facebook profile picture out of it.

Large wall portrait giveaway

Okay, this is BIG! I'm so excited for this, I've never done a promotion like this before but I think it's going to be SO FUN.

Here's the deal - from all of my customers who have a portrait session this summer (that's June, July, and August), I will have a drawing for a free large wall portrait. It's a 16"x20" enlargement with standout mounting. I love standout mounting - it's a dramatic and easy way to have a complete ready-to-hang portrait. You can see sample pictures below. Standout board is a lightweight backing that adds a thick black plastic edged back to your unframed images. This board comes equipped with holes on the back side, ready for hanging. I have 3 of these hanging in my front hall and I LOVE them - I get tons of compliments. (So come & see me if you want to see them in person.)

I will do the drawing the last week of August. This will be for sessions booked and completed before the end of August. This won't include sessions done at portrait parties or when a session fee is not paid. But it will include the majority of my sessions - for families, babies, children, pets, senior pictures, etc.

I am limiting my time to 3 sessions per week as I've been having trouble keeping up.
