Sometimes a blog post has a few images. And sometimes a blog post has 50 images. Today there's too much to share to hold back...
This beautiful bride was one of my family's favorite babysitters. She was fun and kind and my kids and I thought she was great. (We still do! But she doesn't babysit for us anymore.) I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding.
We did bride and groom portraits before the wedding, which I think is such a good idea if it works for your schedule, and of course we had to do a "first look" before we started.
I like doing these portraits in advance so there's plenty of time for serious stuff and also plenty of time for humor.
Also because I want to catch the sunset if I can.
I am a big fan of this groom, even if he did not want very many pictures of himself.
LDS weddings are solemnized inside the temple in a very simple (and beautiful) ceremony without photography. So coming out of the front door as a married couple is the big celebratory moment. There is always a crowd waiting.
There were a lot of family pictures,
I especially loved this one with the bride and groom and their parents together,
and just one straight shot of the wedding party. After that it was all fun and games.
A few more of the beautiful bride just after being married,
and I will leave you with these shots that took a surprisingly long time to set up and hopefully were totally worth it to the wedding party.
Congratulations and best wishes to you both!

A beautiful newborn and her family
It is such an honor to be asked to take newborn portraits of a client's second baby. Baby Number One, who is now three years old, was absolutely beautiful and I loved her newborn session. I searched and found that it never got blogged (???) but I have to show a picture so you can see how much she looks like her new sister.
Darling new sister is so loved and cherished! I loved seeing the girls together.
I remember when we had our second baby and my two year old overnight seemed like a teenager, kind of a dangerous teenager really when near the baby. But though this big sister was full of happy bouncy ideas for fun, but she was also kind and gentle with the baby, and willing to play quietly when it was time to get Baby to sleep.
One of my favorite pictures from the session. I wish I had something like this with my babies. Even though I never wanted to be in the picture myself at the time.
I love doing newborn portraits (or really any portraits) at clients' homes. This family has such a beautiful peaceful home - it was perfect to include.
I had to post a side by side portrait of both girls - Big Sister on the left when she was new, and Baby Sister on the right. I wonder if they will still look similar when they're older? Thank you so much to this wonderful family for having me back for portraits with your new daughter!
If you're interested in a newborn portrait session, I'd love to talk to you about it! Give me a call or email. There are a few things to know in order to make it as successful as this one was.
I have a bunch more baby photography, along with some info on my baby plan options, on this blog page - I offer four different options for baby photography collections. If you are interested for yourself, or if you have a friend or family member you might like to gift a collection to, I have an online magazine with more information that you might like to see. You can send me your email address below and I will email you a link right away.
