Another year is close to wrapping up and I have really enjoyed the photography - looking back I feel like I've enjoyed this year's portraits more than usual. Of course I'm trying to figure out why that might be - maybe it's because I have the absolutely nicest clients. For example, these sweet little guys:
I've loved meeting this guy for photography since he was just turning one year old.
He loves to pose for the camera and I love telling him jokes!
Every year he gets a birthday portrait holding last year's birthday portrait (and so on) - I love this fun idea that his mom does such a great job with.
So we have the super happy-to-pose brother, and then we have the brother who needed a little more time to get comfortable before he was ready to smile - which also honestly feels so good to me because I love it when little people open up. We tried a bunch of fun games, and eventually it all came together with some blocks and jokes from his big brother.
Yay! I never want people to settle for less than the real smiles, so to me it's so rewarding when the silly tricks and games work and really make babies happy!
Thanks so much to their mom, who I really enjoy getting to talk with, for bringing me her sweet boys for portraits! Happy birthdays!

Fall photography fun in the evening light
It's fall family portrait season! So many wonderful families, fun, and beautiful scenery as well. I've known this family since their oldest was a baby and I was so happy to see them again!
They are super fun and full of great ideas. Each of the kids found the perfect pose for a scenic portrait.
Not a million fall leaves were down yet but we used what there was.
These ages of children make family photography so easy and fun! There is a lot of action and enthusiasm and never a dull moment.
And they were even game for some silhouettes at the end, I love it! Thanks so much, it was wonderful to see you again.

I love doing sunset sessions in parks like this one, but there are other good places around Albuquerque, even in the winter, which is coming all too soon! For lots of other session locations, see this blog page here.

A beautiful evening maternity photography session
This lovely couple is expecting their first baby next month. I was thrilled to meet them and work with them for these maternity portraits.
I loved the whole session, but especially the silhouettes (which tend usually to be my favorite).
Congratulations to this soon-to-be-growing family! I'm so excited to meet their baby soon!
If you are expecting a baby and are interested in maternity portraits, give me a call or email! I'd love to chat with you about a session of your own.

Senior portraits - why can't it be summer forever?
This was an absolutely lovely senior session with a beautiful girl that I really enjoyed meeting. It was a perfect summer evening and one of those sessions where everything came together just like you'd hope.
This beautiful girl has great style and the most gorgeous eyes!
She also has great plans for the future - one of my favorite parts of senior portraits is hearing about what direction they're planning to head next!
I love how confident she looks in these portraits!
We can't all have senior portraits done on a beautiful summer evening like this, but if you are interested in senior portraits, I'd love to chat with you and discuss how to make yours the best they can be! We can meet in person or talk on the phone, or you can email me.
I have more information about my senior graduation photography here, or if you like the location we used for her senior portraits, you can see these and many more ideas here.
What did she and her family choose? They wanted the digital files along with copyright permission. This is probably my most popular package for senior portraits (which makes sense...) and it includes an 11x14" canvas wall hanging. Beautiful!
