One more garden mini-session that I loved! I met this family first when their son was a newborn. He and his sister have grown up so much (obviously!). I totally look forward to seeing them in the fall and this year's mini-session was a quick and happy success.
If you're interested in more information about a family photography session, my website has lots of info about how I do sessions. Or you can call or email me if you have questions or would just like to chat about it, no pressure.
I love doing photo sessions out in nature like this one, but there are lots of other good
places around Albuquerque too! For lots of other
session location ideas, see this page.

Beautiful evening photography in a wild flower garden (how often does that phrase come up in Albuquerque?)
It's fall portrait time! I only have a minute to post, but I have a couple of sessions that are so beautiful and I'm afraid I won't ever post them if I don't do it now. This is a family that I have loved watching grow over the past few years. Their girls are a ton of fun and I loved working with them in the wild garden background here for an evening mini-session.
I haven't loved this garden for the past couple of years, but this year was a wonderful year for it! I wish I'd started using it sooner!
Here is your bonus nature picture - this creepily large spider, at least a couple of inches long, was blending into the background in the picture above, off to the left side. If you can id this spider please leave a comment below!
Thanks so much to this awesome family! It's such an honor to see you again this year.

Newborn photography using a round backdrop stand
This beautiful little princess came to me for newborn photography when she was just three days old. She was sleepy and really a dream to work with.
I got the chance to use the round backdrop stand that my husband and I have been working on. I love it because when I used to use a normal backdrop stand behind the beanbag, sometimes when I turn the baby, the backdrop is missing or wrinkled behind them. Then I have to edit it later in Photoshop.
So hopefully using this new round stand, the backdrop won't need extra editing later. It worked like a charm for me with this sweet little girl.
She is the first girl in her family, with four older brothers. Some girly flowers seemed like a great idea.
Sometimes it's fun to see a pull-back of what the setup looks like.
I'm so grateful to her awesome mom for bringing me her baby when she was still definitely not fully recovered! I hope you are all getting some rest.
If you're interested in a newborn portrait session, I'd love to talk to you about it! Give me a call or email. There are a few things to know in order to make it as successful as this one was.

Birthday portraits for some brothers that warm my heart
I have kids. And they get along pretty well. (Mostly. It's getting better the older they get.) But my kids have always been pretty hands off with each other. (As I type this, I'm remembering a bad streak when they weren't necessarily teeth off all the time... luckily that was brief and long ago.)
These sweet brothers totally warmed my heart with their obvious love for each other.
Love these little guys!
Their mom has them get a birthday portrait every year holding their previous birthday portrait. I love this idea, isn't it sweet?
I loved getting to see them again this year! What darling happy little boys. Thanks to their awesome mom for bringing them!

Beautiful Foothills family session in the golden evening light
I've been enjoying this family ever since their oldest was a baby. (This makes me feel a little old, but it's okay.) We got together this year on a beautiful fall evening in a really fun location.
It was really fun to explore around and look back over the city as the sun got lower and lower.
That golden moment when the light is perfect...
Thanks to this awesome family - your kids keep getting more amazing all the time!
