Formal dress in the bosque

This beautiful girl gets the award for the latest senior portraits of the season, because of any teenager's favorite person - her orthodontist. Her braces were coming off, but she wasn't sure when. We took a few of these a month ago, so her family would have some pictures to use for announcements, then the rest were done 5 days before graduation.

I thought these were gorgeous! But her braces came off a few weeks later.

And these are even better! 

What a beautiful smile.

The bosque was green, the river was high, and it was a perfect morning for portraits.

This was my favorite part - she looks amazing in formal dress in the bosque!

Next stop - the mesa top with her jeep. It was getting breezy but I love how these worked.

And a few studio portraits with her soccer cleats.

It was a busy morning, but everything came together and I love how these senior portraits turned out!

Family minisession fundraiser portraits (thank you!)

I'm so grateful for the families that worked with me for my fundraiser last month. Thank you so much! Here are three families who came for portraits.


These guys were some of my first clients in Albuquerque. I've been photographing them since their kids were babies.






In fact I dared to go way, way back in my archive... the time from which I don't always like to look at my photography because I feel like I've grown lot since then... but there is a really sweet session from 2008 posted here.




Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! Your kids were hilarious and I loved working with you!


I have some history with this awesome family too! She was my neighbor once (I think she babysat my kids a few times). And...


three years ago I got to photograph their wedding!


Their family has grown since then,


in the cutest possible way!


Thank you so much for coming! I loved getting to see you again!


And this family and I go way back also! Honestly, what an honor to be able to photograph these families over the years.

It's so cool for me to see kids through the years. These guys impressed me so much - they were really fun and I see such amazing accomplishments.

Track star!

This guy. He's the fourth brother in one of my favorite families. He continues the tradition of excellence that they have all shown in huge measure.

I can't say too many amazing things, because he's also so modest. For example, he only brought a few of his medals, and some of the ones he brought didn't even come out of the bag.

So I won't say any more, except I just saw that his metro times were just faster than his *first place* times at state last year as a junior.

He wanted the mountains in the background and I love how they looked that evening.

Not just track - also football and basketball. As a mom of a teenage son, all those sports sound exhausting to me, but how amazing is it to get so many opportunities?

I love to get a picture of mom and her senior!

I loved getting the chance to photograph this amazing senior. I've known him since he was just a little guy and I can't wait to see where he goes next!
