Beautiful early season senior session at the Biopark

I have many pictures to share from this lovely senior portrait session at the biopark. It's early in the season, but there is still green to be found (even outside of the greenhouse).

This beautiful girl was so confident and self-assured in front of the camera!

She has volunteered at the biopark in past summers, so this was an especially appropriate location for senior portraits.

The greenhouse tends to be the best place in town for winter portraits. Where else can you see such beautiful plants and flowers?

I love including talents, hobbies, and anything high school seniors love in their portraits! What could be more fun than a ukulele?

I also had a chance to catch  her at the first track and field meet of the season. I really enjoyed watching her throw the javelin! 

I loved getting to meet this smart and successful senior girl! Her easy confidence made senior portraits easy and comfortable. Best wishes to her with all her exciting plans!

It's a cake smash! Watch the frosting fly!

I am ALWAYS ready for a cake smash portrait session. This little guy was about to turn 1 year old, and I haven't seen such cake-eating joy in a long time!

We started out with a few clean portraits...




And then the real fun began. He was a natural.


His mom made this really cute Mickey cake, I was impressed.








My favorite is when feet get involved. Mmmmm.




Cake smash baby portraits are always fun. But this darling little guy was 100% happy to play with cake, which made it extra fun!


He didn't mind sticky fingers or toes, and actually wanted to eat the cake! (This is not always true.)




Here's my favorite. What a lovely moment!




And you can always tell when a cake smash session is over... sometimes it ends in tears, and sometimes it ends when the baby leaves the scene. No tears today!

It's always good weather inside the greenhouse!

It's winter time! Actually, February in Albuquerque has been pretty nice this year, much nicer than last March was (the wind!). But. It's a hard time of year to find a good outdoor location for family photography. I'm so glad we can go to the Biopark, because the Botanic Gardens are beautiful all year long.

I love this amazing family. I took their engagement portraits a couple of years ago, which I loved. But now - they have a baby! Isn't he a cutie?















How fun are these guys? The baby was a little serious, but nobody can keep a straight face upside down.

Vintage styled children's photography

A few years ago I did some antique-style portraits for children. I loved them but haven't done too much with these since then, except one really darling little boy. This winter a local mom asked me about antique portraits, and I was thrilled to get all my props back out again.

So, this little girl was hilarious. She started out a little shy, which is very normal by the way. She was not too into the tea party, until...


she realized that the little bunny we were trying to get her to hold would be much funnier to push off her lap. It worked like a charm - funny every time!








The bunny was up on the chair... for now!


She also loved the book of children's poetry. So many fun pictures.








Look out, bunny. Ha!




What a huge pleasure it was to get to play with this darling little girl one morning. I absolutely love it when children start out shy and uncertain but end up in peals of laughter.
