One year old (almost) baby princess

It seems like yesterday when my babies were like this. I remember when my oldest daughter turned one year old. Since she was my first, we hadn't given her sugar at all yet, so I made this terrible cake sweetened with apple juice with cream cheese frosting. She didn't like it, didn't eat it at all as I recall. None of us did, because I made everyone else a nice chocolate cake with actual sugar and butter and it actually tasted good. We gave our subsequent babies actual cake and it was much more popular.

This beautiful little girl is about to turn one. She's the first baby in her family - I hope she gets a much nicer cake than my oldest did!




She could not have been more darling, as you can see.






She did not love wearing the dress - it made her keep her hands up in the air a bit, but I think every baby girl needs a portrait in a fluffy pink dress.




Her grandma brought these darling wings, and we could put them on, but we couldn't make her keep them on! Happily, it worked for a second.


I have to say, I do wish a little bit that I could go back and enjoy my babies again! It was so much fun to work with this sweetie - thanks to her grandma for bringing her!
