I got some new backdrops. I guess I collect them. It's kind of funny because I'd just sold a few of them on Craigslist that I never used. Then there was a really good sale at a really good backdrop company, and I suddenly have 4 new backdrops. I am happy to have more options, especially such nice ones. :)

Brothers at the park

These are the nicest boys, I really like them. They were so great to do portraits with - full of fun ideas & ready to try mine too.

Fun in the park

Time for some new pictures! I've been having the hardest time getting anything done lately... we've had car problems, we really need to buy a new car, do some trip planning (family wedding), first days of school for 2 of my kids, and some big-time weeds in my garden that I so don't want to let go to seed. I've been having that week where nothing seems to get done, even though I'm really tired at the end of the day! But, I did manage to finish one session from 2 weeks ago.

And it's SOOOOOO cute! I have been doing portraits for this family for a long while - long ago this little girl was a little reluctant, but that is ALL GONE now. She was absolutely darling, full of personality & didn't mind me taking pictures of her fun. Her brother was a little reluctant :) but there are some great ones of him too! He's just my littlest daughter's age, so I'm used to 2 year olds who aren't excited to look at the camera while smiling. It is always fun to use a park for portraits.










There was a sudden storm just as she put on the pettiskirt! It ended up being one of those really stormy nights, and it all started just when we took these pictures. :) Still SO cute, wind notwithstanding.

Sneak peek - baby portraits

So part of the point of my having a blog is that I mean to post sneak peeks for people from their sessions. My processing time has grown to about 2 weeks, and that's kind of long to wait to see anything from your session! I've not been doing previews like I intend, and I'm afraid that in the fall I won't have time, but maybe if I can get in the habit now... ?

This darling little girl is 4 months old and has a smile that's a photographer's dream! It's so nice when they like me :) (much harder when my smiles make them cry...). She was happy to try lots of different things, and kept her beautiful smile throughout. Thanks so much for coming! It was really nice to meet you.
















I think this might be my favorite. It's hard to choose. :)

Family / Maternity session at the gardens

It's too late for me to be up blogging... I'm definitely a morning person, not a night person. That said there are sadly too many nights when I find myself up at this time getting some work done - it's hard to get a lot done during the day. (I'm sure nobody else has that problem, right???)

This session was just so much fun. This is an amazing family, about to add their second child. If he is half as much fun as his sister is, he'll be a force to be reckoned with! I loved taking these pictures and I loved putting them together too. Thanks so much!

Baby in the green green grass

Oh wow, sometimes a session so simple turns out so amazing! We met to play at the park and this little guy's mom had brought a cowboy hat and boots. He wasn't so sure he wanted to sit bare-legged in the grass, but he's such a sweet little boy that he got past the funny poky grass and had the most beautiful smiles! I love these. His newborn pictures were also some of my favorites - he's grown so much! I can't believe how fast a year goes.
