Maternity - family stuff
We got to see my brother & sister in law's new house. It's beautiful! We're really excited for them. I had about 30 seconds of battery left in my camera, no charger, and a few rays of fading daylight to work with. This is the result. She is 6 months pregnant & thinks she looks big (this is the kind of thing women one-up with, right? You should have SEEN how big I was at 6 months!) but not to me in these pics. She is beautiful & their little boy is so gorgeous! These pics aren't great but they kind of show it. Congratulations, we're really excited for you! :)

Our Christmas card
Just in case I don't get it mailed out.... Oh, I'm sure I'll get it mailed out EVENTUALLY! Right? I usually do a different sort of collage but figured I should use the templates I made for cards this year.
Update - I got the cards but somehow the text was mostly missing from the back. So they will be New Year's cards with a merry Christmas message. Oh well, I'm sure family & friends will forgive us.

Still catching up...
Okay, it's one week before Christmas vacation starts, and I am STILL getting through my fall portraits. This family is one of our nicest friends. They wanted pictures outside in the park and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Their kids are so photogenic - actually the whole family is so photogenic! That's not why I love their family :) - but isn't it nice? This was as the sun was about to go down so there are some full-sun shots, which I almost never do, but I think it works.
One thing about shooting so many pictures this fall is that I'm doing sessions where almost every shot is a keeper. That's where I wanted to be, and it's fantastic. Note to self: TAKE LESS PICTURES NOW. :)
Okay, now one more week of ordering madness, and then I'm going to take some weeks off. I love photography but I think I can happily find something else to do for awhile...
There are way too many pictures here that I'm posting, but I'm too tired to do a good job of choosing. Also they ended up with 100+ proofs...

Christmas portraits
These 2 sweet little kids are so much fun! They did a great job with the more "serious" pose, then got some really fun "playing" pictures too. They liked my big plastic ornament balls (who doesn't!). It's always nice to see this great family.
I am trying like crazy to catch up with the last few sessions so people can get their Christmas pictures ordered... I'm getting more efficient than ever, and that's a good thing. But there are still 8 sessions unedited on my computer. Don't give up on me, it won't be too much longer!

Another darling baby
Backyard portraits
I love using back yards for portraits! It's meaningful & personal. (Unless you hate yardwork or something.) Of course I use mine for our kids, but it's absolutely hideous in the winter. This great family had a really nice yard, November notwithstanding. She has been waiting so very patiently for her pictures - I actually should have the gallery tomorrow but in the meantime here's a little preview. (And thanks for your patience!) We have preschool connections (or is that ex-connections) - it was fun to see them again. What beautiful little girls!
