Senior portraits on a beautiful fall evening

This time of year is so fun for senior portraits, and this girl was the most enthusiastic and happy senior I've met in a long time!

She had every thing planned out, had some really fun props, and was just full of excitement. What a treat it is to work with someone so happy (and here I'm thinking in contrast of  some times when I try to photography my own children, ha ha).

She also brought a friend, which I always think is a good idea - it makes the whole experience more comfortable if you have someone to laugh with.

If you have a high school senior or are a high school senior, I'd love to chat with you and discuss how to make your senior portraits the best they can be! We can meet in person or talk on the phone, or you can email me

Newborn photo gear

Professional portrait of a newborn baby using a round backdrop stand Baby Backdroplet

I don't normally travel to my clients' homes for newborn portraits, but when they have other children, sometimes I feel like it makes more sense for me to go to them. And as I'd staged my stuff by the front door of my house, I was struck by the lack of volume of gear. I used to fill the back of my SUV to nearly overflowing. Since I started using my Baby Backdroplet, I take this amount of stuff only (plus my camera bag which somehow escaped this picture). A few slipcovers, a couple of extra blankets, cloth diapers, some wraps, one basket, everything fits in a plastic bin (almost). It's a lovely feeling!

If you like the Baby Backdroplet, you can find more info here.
