We're trying to decide what to do for spring portraits at the preschool. We could do something on the more elaborate side, like last year. I was experimenting to see if we could do something simple that just uses the playground. That's what they love anyway (or at least this is my thinking). So I'm not super in love with these but maybe they will get the ball rolling...? I think one thing that's hard in the early spring is that there's no color outside to work with, or at least only monochromatic color. :)
Yes, too bad she was NOT happy for this one...

Junior Scientist Portraits (Albuquerque children family photographer)
So I was at a PTA meeting last year & nobody was volunteering to run Science Night, and nobody did it last year either. Of course I couldn't let that happen again, so I volunteered & I'm in charge of it later this month. I think it's going to be a lot of fun! I decided it would be fun to give a "junior scientist portrait" to the kids who do science projects, so I'm going to set up a little photo booth & take hopefully a lot of pictures. This is my sample picture so people will know what they're getting. And she's a great scientist too! :)
Matt says I should use the one with the goggles. And he says he can't tell it's a lab coat, I should use a dark background instead. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow - I think I wanted to be able to see the flask, that's why I wanted to use white.

Bubbles! (Albuquerque children family photographer)
What could be more fun than bubbles... inside! (We never do bubbles inside.) I love high-key pics, there's something so appealing about a crisp white background to me. I used to use black all the time (and I still do like low-key) but white is my new black.
And it drives me crazy that my best model is growing up so fast! My friends with babies will have to look out.
Someday I am going to settle on a font for my logo. :) Until then I continue to experiment.

I love, love, love newborns! (Albuquerque children family photographer)
This little one was (I think) almost a week old. She has sweet little chubby cheeks, she slept the whole time (that's my favorite for newborns), and such a darling little angel face! I love her, I'm glad her mom is my friend so I can watch her grow! I also dearly love to get pictures of them really young. So darling and it goes so fast!
How funny, I see a picture of her with eyes open below... it was a momentary aberration. :)
