Three year old portraits in the park

I had the pleasure of meeting this family at the park for a fun session. Their little girl has just turned 3 and needed portraits. They had tried another studio & it wasn't her thing :) - I was so happy to meet her & give it a try! I think we got a lot of really good portraits of her - by herself & with her brothers & sister too. She is little but she has a BIG personality - and isn't she beautiful?

Birthday party photography - baby & family

I love this family - I met them almost a couple of years ago when their older daughter was really little. They've since had twins (so darling!) and their big girl just celebrated her 2nd birthday! She is so beautiful - look at those blue blue eyes. Anyway they invited all of my family to their fun party, thanks so much! I had a blast & took easily twice as many pictures as I should have. I'm still going through them all... but here's at least a preview for you. Thanks!


I have to admit I had a tough time getting all 3 girls to look the same direction. I was happy that (with the aid of some fabulous grandparents) the older daughter had some great smiles! And the babies are smiling too. :)

Antique baby portraits

This little girl is one of the most beautiful babies I know. She has big eyes, the most gorgeous curls, and she likes to wear bows on her head (neither of my girls can keep them on for a second so I'm jealous of this). And she has a darling personality too, she's got it all! I was so happy to take these (and many more) pictures of her. Thanks for coming!

Old fashioned antique portraits - portrait party & special!

I was asked to do some antique portraits for one of the most beautiful babies I know - her pictures are coming in the next day or so :) - and I loved the set-up so much that I did a few with my "models" also. These are SO much fun! I found some antique toy props for boys also, so this is for little boys or girls. It's not a huge set, but we could do small groups of children also. If you're interested in booking an antique session, give me a call or email. I will do 10% off these sessions through May and June.

I'm also going to do a portrait party here with this set: Friday, May 29th. These will be short sessions - I'm going to book them 30 minutes apart. No session fee, regular print prices. If you're interested, call me ASAP because I always book solid with portrait parties.

Newborn baby boy portraits

This darling little boy came a couple of weeks ago for his first portraits. I loved him! He did such a great job - sleepy and didn't mind having his clothes on, or off, or being moved around. I always love newborn shoots but this one was especially smooth. His mom is so beautiful - you would never guess to see her that she'd just had a baby! (I hadn't even known she was expecting one - I'd last seen her before Christmas & it wasn't at all obvious.)
Oh, and I got some great newborn yawns, I love that!

New camera getting a workout

Three days with my new camera and I'm up over 1000 shots already. Yikes! I photographed a really fun party on Saturday, that was a lot of pictures, and then today I did some portraits of my kids in their Easter clothes. (I say Easter clothes, but only my oldest daughter actually got a new Easter dress. My son had a nice shirt already, which he never wears except when I make him. And my youngest has so many beautiful things passed down to her that I don't think I've bought her anything more than socks her whole little life.)

Anyway.... this is the first picture I processed out of my whole-lot of pictures from today. I curled her hair and it is SO cute - it makes her look very angelic (if you know her, you know that's not necessarily how she behaves).



I've heard other photographers say they have a hard time getting good portraits of their own children. I have three. At almost no time were they all looking at the camera. Even promises of marshmallows (which were delivered BTW) and funny puppets falling off my head failed to get all 3 of them looking AT ME and SMILING at the same time. Luckily, Photoshop is going to really make this session a success for me :).... eventually.

We spent a lot of time this last fall and spring with soccer. My little boy played for the first time (with Rush) and loved it! He had a great team, and such a great coach! We're all ready to sign up for fall soccer just to spend time with Coach Brandon again. My little guy almost tears up when he realizes that it's Tuesday or Thursday and there's no soccer practice. (We haven't told him yet, but I think his coach is going to do a 3 on 3 tournament thing this summer - he'll be ecstatic if it works out.) He scored 3 goals - proud moment! - at the last game, and every goal = an ice cream sundae in our family. We stretched it out, one per weekend, and just finished our last sundae. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Anyway I put together a fun collage for the other families - it's a team picture with black & white action shots around the border. Just for fun -
