Baptism photography

Last weekend I had the wonderful opportunity of being the photographer for a baptism. It was a beautiful ceremony with a really neat family, a privilege to be there for sure. There are some ceremony pictures here, then we did some group pictures at the church, and then there was a really nice reception at a nearby park. (Thanks for the cake!)

As a photographer it's always so fun when my subjects have eyes like these children have! It's harder to tell on the group shots, but the baby and her siblings have these glowing gorgeous eyes. I didn't enhance at all.

Thanks so much for the opportunity - I loved meeting your family & being there at your special occasion! This is a sample of just a few of the ceremony & group pictures; the rest of the gallery will be ready in a few days.

The baby fell asleep in the middle of family portraits... SO cute!

Three sisters in pink

These lovely ladies were such a pleasure to work with. I don't have a sister so it was especially fun to see these cute sisters together. The gardens are so beautiful lately - we didn't have to go far to find lots of flowers, roses, fountains, and other great portrait backdrops. That with cute smiles & giggles made this a really fun session! Their dad worked with me at the preschool this past year & I really want to thank him (and the rest of the board) for their time & service.

Credit for scrapbook elements to Megan Farrow and Studio Flergs. So cute!

Large wall portrait giveaway

Okay, this is BIG! I'm so excited for this, I've never done a promotion like this before but I think it's going to be SO FUN.

Here's the deal - from all of my customers who have a portrait session this summer (that's June, July, and August), I will have a drawing for a free large wall portrait. It's a 16"x20" enlargement with standout mounting. I love standout mounting - it's a dramatic and easy way to have a complete ready-to-hang portrait. You can see sample pictures below. Standout board is a lightweight backing that adds a thick black plastic edged back to your unframed images. This board comes equipped with holes on the back side, ready for hanging. I have 3 of these hanging in my front hall and I LOVE them - I get tons of compliments. (So come & see me if you want to see them in person.)

This is a $225 value. You will love it!

I will do the drawing the last week of August. This will be for sessions booked and completed before the end of August. This won't include sessions done at portrait parties or when a session fee is not paid. But it will include the majority of my sessions - for families, babies, children, pets, senior pictures, etc.

Please email or call if you have any questions. Right now I'm booking about 2 weeks in advance but our major vacation is over with (we may - hopefully - have one more this summer). I am limiting my time to 3 sessions per week as I've been having trouble keeping up. So what I'm getting at is that sessions will definitely be limited :) - if this is something you want to get in on, give me a call! Thanks!

Old Town portraits

This session was SO much fun. This little guy has gotten really smiley since I started taking his portraits a couple of years ago (has it been that long already?). Going to Old Town was a ton of fun - the colors are gorgeous & there are so many great places for pictures! He was really funny - he'd sit down & smile for about 2 1/2 seconds, then he was off! (Sometimes he would wait a little longer.) But his smile was so beautiful that it didn't matter - if I'd had time to focus right, the pictures were great even though the pace was fast. Then it was off for some ice cream - nice & easy, with a great reward at the end.

Now I want family pictures of my family in Old Town. :)

1 year old high-key portraits

I'm back from vacation & scrambling to get a bunch of sessions finished & posted. We went to a family reunion in the Colorado mountains near Pike's Peak... with no internet! It's hard for me to be disconnected for a week :) - but it's good for me too. It was super-fun to see so much family - my kids bonded again with cousins, and we visited my grandma too. But it's nice to be back.

Here's a session from earlier this month (thanks for your patience). This little guy was so sweet - he was happy & smiled the whole time. That makes for a quick & easy session! I loved that he brought his toy monkey, it was so cute! Thanks for coming, it was so nice to meet you.

Some fun stuff

Last weekend we went to the Great Raft Race (is that what it's called?) down the Rio Grande. My husband took the kids down before I could get there, and they found a really good (and muddy) place to watch the boats float by. If I'd known how muddy it would be, I certainly would have dressed the kids differently, or at least brought a change of clothes. As it was, once you're muddy, you're muddy! You might as well play in the mud some more! It was fun all around.

We ate dinner in Old Town & since I had the camera (and another session down there) we did some playing on our way home. I love my handy-dandy models! :)

Backyard fun

I'm not having time to blog all my sessions... which is great, right? But I loved these & had to post a few. This is a really neat family I just met; shhhhhh, they're a Father's Day present. :) I love using people's back yards - maybe because I love pictures of our family in our back yard. And isn't their dog great? She didn't always want to be included, but she did end up being in some good ones.

Thanks, it was so great to meet you!
